Dr. Khalid Al Hiddan member in the Global Advisory Council

Dr. Khalid Abdulrahman Al Hiddan Director of GIS Directorate of the Central Informatics Organization was chosen as a member of the (Global Advisory Council), which forms the Federation of Consulting Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). And he is the only member from the Middle East in the Union’s that contain 26 member-consultants in the world. Note that the Council of Open Geospatial regard to geographical and spatial information and to develop their own policies and policy development in ways that policies of modernization and exchange of information and technical specifications and the other at the international level.

This came in a letter for Dr. Khaled Al Hiddan received from David Shell, President of the Consulting Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) to tell him about choosing him as member of the Global Advisory Council.

Dr. Khalid reported that the choice is an achievement for Bahrain and not to him personally and this selection confirms what we have reached with the human resources and for the high level of Bahrainis mind and he is not the first or the last of the Bahrainis competencies. And this choice as a result of the support system of geographic information systems in the Kingdom in general and the CIO on particular as a result of the support and Minister of Cabinet Affairs and CIO President for geographic information systems in the Kingdom
