The Central Informatics Organization won the information in Arabic e-content award that follow the WSA (World Submit Award) of the United Nations for Bahrain Locator project, Also won the local e-content award that organized by Bahrain Internet Society in cooperation with the e-government for Bahrain Locator project. The awards were handed over by THE Deputy Prime Minister HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, in a special ceremony held yesterday in the Gulf Hotel, The awards were accepted by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Amer, President of CIO.
On this occasion, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Al Amer President of CIO said that this achievement is the result of unlimited support from the senior leadership in the Kingdom and a result of investment in the Bahraini human resources and plans of a clear strategy produced by the government in general and the Organization in particular.
Al Amer added that the CIO received an official letter in this regard from the WSA of the United Nations stating that the CIO won the best Arabic e-content award. He added that the international award proves that the government‘s strategic plans going in the right direction and will contribute to support services and reduce the cost of the establishment of geographic information. He pointed out that these achievements are beginning to greater achievements in all fields under the full support of the leadership.
For his part, Dr. Khalid Abdulrahman Al Hiddan, Director of Geographical Information Systems of the CIO said that this achievement is the result of the great support from the President of CIO Dr. Mohamed Al Amer to the Geographical Information Systems and added to the achievements of Bahrain in all areas. He also pointed out that Bahrain occupies a prominent place at the regional level, the Middle East and globally in geographic information field, and a large number of countries in the region are currently working in order to benefit from Bahrain experience. He stressed that this achievement as a result of unlimited support from the senior leadership in the Kingdom and as a result of investment in Bahraini human resources and the clear strategic plans produced by the cabinet and its support for geographic information systems.
