A delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and State of Kuwait tested using electronic gateway at Bahrain International Airport using the ID card. The project supervised by the Central Informatics Organization and designed to facilitate the GCC citizens crossing through the airport.

The CIO prepared an office at the airport for GCC citizen’s registration, where using the electronic gateway requires pre-registration for this service, the experiment has been successful in a move aimed at strengthening the integration between the GCC countries.

The GCC delegation also visited the CIO President Dr. Mohammed Al Amer, who presented them a brief about the Bahraini ID card and electronic gateway project‘s. And the delegation reviewed the work mechanism in Isa Town cards center.

A Qatari delegation has already successfully tried their national identity card for crossing the electronic gateway at Bahrain airport.
