Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa received here today a Japanese delegation led by the Deputy Director-General at the Manufacturing Industries Bureau of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Satoshi Miyamoto, currently on a visit to the kingdom.
During the meeting, Shaikh Mohammed welcomed the members of the visiting delegation and discussed with them areas of cooperation between Bahrain and Japan in the industrial and technical fields.
In this regard, he asserted that the government is interested in using modern technology in all fields, including remote sensing and geographical information systems, expressing the kingdom‘s keenness to train Bahrain cadres in this vital sector which provided up-to-date geospatial information database through surveys and Satellite images and keeps a unified geographical information database of the Kingdom.
He also wished them every success in their mission aiming to develop and promote modern technology in Bahrain.
On their part, members of the delegation expressed their sincere thanks to the Deputy Premier for his constant follow up and interest to develop the technologies used in all fields.
The Japanese Ambassador to Bahrain Shigeki Sumi and Director of Geographic Information Systems at the Central Informatics Organisation Dr. Khalid Al-Haidan also attended.
