Which is responsible for:

• Providing studies and indicators about the movement of the foreign trade of the Kingdom of Bahrain and preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports about imports and exports between the Kingdom and different countries; also, reporting on the financial and monetary sectors indicators.
  
  
• Providing information and indicators about prices and cost of living; and preparing a monthly report about prices to be used by consumers; in addition to conducting surveys of families‘ revenues and expenditures.
  
  
• Gathering, studying and ana lysing statistics of production sectors and reporting on important norms specially those related to the general plan and stages methodology in cooperation with other technical Directorates in CIO and related governmental and private units.
  
  
• Controlling statistical surveys conducted by the private sector in the economic fields and providing technical consultancy for the public and private sector in the statistical field.
  
  
• Setting plans to improve information, indicators and economical information tests.
  
  
• Coordinating surveys conducted by different governmental units to ensure the need for them and the correctness of methodologies used and way of processing of information and reporting on results.
  
  
• Conducting researches and studies related to economic recourses; and making analysis of totals of general levels of production, revenues, wages, prices, expenditures and the balance of payments.
  
  
• Contributing to setting economic policies through providing actual statistics and estimates.
  
  
• Assisting governmental units to conduct some social and economic surveys.
  
  
• Participating in social and environmental surveys.
