Vital Statistics are considered the second most important method of collecting demographic data after the census of population. It shows the precise indication of estimated growth of population. In addition, it shows trends and prospects of population.
Vital statistics consist of data on live and still births, infant mortality, deaths marriage and divorce.
Keeping in mind that it was organized under births and deaths with the issuance of law by decree no. (6) for the year 1970.The recording of births and deaths is characterized by great accuracy, and the recording of marriage divorce cases is completely comprehensive for Muslims only, while adding marriage statistics for non-Muslims is under study. This chapter includes data showing the distribution of births, deaths, and marriage and divorce cases according to the most important social and economic characteristics.
