CIO wins Geospatial Excellence Award

The Central Informatics Organization (CIO) has been granted the Geospatial Excellence Award. The CIO was honoured at the International Geospatial Data Conference, held last month in Dubai. Geographical Information System director Dr. Khalid Al Hidan received the award from the executive director of GISTEC, the official distributor of the US Giant Ergonomics and Safety Research Institute (ESRI) Geospatial Systems. “The award acknowledges the CIO recognised excellence in the regional and international arenas”, Dr. Al-Hidan said, paying tribute to the wise leadership and the Government for their support. The conference was attended by up to one thousand participants representing advanced countries known for their geospatial knowhow
